Happy Shappy adding a little happiness into our branding! Happy Shappy is a brand that needed to be India’s largest wedding / event services marketplace. Happy Shappy would help customers easily navigate any event planning detail through their website with the best possible price. The branding and website design spoke of being modern, convenient, vibrant, emotional, elegant and stylish. A smile is the shortest distance between two people…a curve that sets everything straight. The identity plays with a smiley in it; a happy design- something that enables the customers to connect with the company on a personal level, an image that instantly brings some emotional connect, inspires a wonderful feeling of pleasure and confidence. The typeface is a beautiful handwritten script that is fun, energetic and elegant. It is modern and brings out the essence of the happiness state of mind. The Happy Shappy logotype is a reflection of what the brand stands for: Sheer Joy & Happiness! India is home to a myriad of colors. In a country as diverse and culturally vibrant as India, it is perhaps the common, simple expressions of colour that hold together the multitudes of outlooks, lifestyles, and traditions. The symbolism of colour stands out and controls every aspect of life in India and Celebrations is one such thing. Every celebration in India is a riot of colours. It speaks of the festivity, the grandeur and the emotions involved. Our Identity boasts of the colours inspired from India and this grandeur of celebrations. Since the Brand rejoices in the happiness of it’s clients, we decided to continue using the smile across all the category iconography to continue the Brand language. We created the large icon sets by creating a design system that fuses consistency across the entire set. One where brand marque and interface elements all work together to influence each other – including the iconography; we borrowed the mood and the colours (our current brand asset) from the Indian wedding scenario. The marque was directly influenced by distinctive interface elements- our happy smile. Ultimately, crafting the entire icon set was all about uniformity: each icon was consistent with the rest in the set. As who knows, in the future these icons would need to stand alone, outside of the interface or service for which they were originally designed. That’s when they would have to represent the brand all on their own. Our naming too for the iconography began with the word – ‘Happy’ to keep up with the brand feel. The website uses the Listify a WordPress Directory Theme as a base and is designed using the components from the visual language we’ve built for the brand – clean, bold, minimal and most of all elegant.
